My name is Andy and I’m the owner and pilot at Alpha Three Aviation. This isn’t just a business for me. It’s a passion that started 30+ years ago when I had my first flight lesson at the age of 14. Within 5 minutes of hopping in the cockpit, I was hooked and never looked back. I earned my B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering Technology from Purdue University, where I interned at NASA, studying aviation and human factors. Upon graduation, I joined American Eagle Airlines and flew professionally for 13 years, at which point, I moved to the private sector. With just under 10,000 hours in the cockpit, I’ve earned numerous type ratings and have experience with airliners like the Embraer 145, Saab 340 and ATR 72, as well as business aircraft including the Hawker Beechjet 400A, Beechcraft King Air 200, Beechcraft Baron 58 and Cirrus SR 22, among others.

I’m rated as an Airline Transport Pilot (the FAA's highest certification), as well as a Certified Flight Instructor and Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic with Inspection Authorization, two certifications I've held for 20 years and that I must keep current. In addition to being active in our local aviation community, I also serve on the State of Pennsylvania’s Aviation Advisory Committee, where I employ my expertise as a thought partner on key issues including regional airport infrastructure, aviation safety practices and more.

Simply put, aviation is my life. I’m a husband and father of two young kids, so I know how important it is to maintain a good work-life balance. Alpha Three Aviation gives me an opportunity to share my passion with others in a way that helps them be more efficient and productive — whether it’s for work or play.
